org-latex-create-formula-image-program is a variable defined in `org.el'.
Its value is

dvipng

• This variable may be risky if used as a file-local variable.

Documentation:
Program to convert LaTeX fragments with.

dvipng Process the LaTeX fragments to dvi file, then convert
dvi files to png files using dvipng.
This will also include processing of non-math environments.
imagemagick Convert the LaTeX fragments to pdf files and use imagemagick
to convert pdf files to png files

You can customize this variable.

This variable was introduced, or its default value was changed, in version 24.1 of Emacs.
