idlwave-shell-automatic-electric-debug is a variable defined in `idlw-shell.el'.
Its value is

breakpoint

Documentation:
Enter the electric-debug minor mode automatically.
This occurs at a breakpoint or any other halt. The mode is exited
upon return to the main level. Can be set to 'breakpoint to enter
electric debug mode only when breakpoints are tripped.

You can customize this variable.
