compilation-message-face is a variable defined in `compile.el'.
Its value is

underline

Documentation:
Face name to use for whole messages.
Faces `compilation-error-face', `compilation-warning-face',
`compilation-info-face', `compilation-line-face' and
`compilation-column-face' get prepended to this, when applicable.

You can customize this variable.

This variable was introduced, or its default value was changed, in version 22.1 of Emacs.
